December Lunch Event: It’s a Woman’s World: The New Face of Colorado Leadership
December Program: It’s a Woman’s World: The New Face of Colorado Leadership
We are sad to announce that Joe Neguse has been called back to Washington to serve our country, so he will not be speaking at the December program. But don’t despair because this gives us even more time with our amazing panel of women leaders! Our panel of elected officials are trailblazers in bringing change to Colorado in the age of Trump–and they are all graduates of Emerge Colorado!
Senator Faith Winter was elected to the Colorado State Senate in 2018. She has been an active member of Emerge Colorado and served in the Colorado House of Representatives.
Representative Leslie Herod was elected in 2016 as the first LGBTQ+ African American in the General Assembly, while receiving the highest number of votes of any candidate running in a contested election.
Representative Monica Duran is the daughter of a migrant worker and lived through homelessness and domestic abuse. She triumphed as an activist in her community and a City Councilwoman in Wheat Ridge before winning her bid for the Colorado House of Representatives in 2018.
Mayor Pro Tem Jamie Harkins is leading Lafayette as the first LGBTQ+ Mayor Pro Tem of the city. She is a strong advocate for the environment, which she uses to fuel her work as Sustainability Coordinator of Boulder County.
