March Dinner: CU Regents: 2020 Opportunity for Democrats
- This event has passed.
We have made the difficult decision to cancel our March program out of an abundance of caution because of the coronavirus epidemic. We need all of our members to be strong and healthy so we can fight Trump with all of our might in November. We will update you on future developments as we near the time for April’s event.
Please wash your hands, take care, and keep up your good work! This health care crisis has proven just how much we need change in 2020.
March Evening Event: CU Regents:
2020 Opportunity for Democrats
CU has been controlled by a Republican agenda for over 40 years. This has resulted in backwards attitudes about climate change, a lack of discussion about the university’s investments in fossil fuels, the hiring of more conservative faculty members, and the advancement of conservative ideology through curricula, among many other issues.
But 2020 could change that!
Our March program will focus on this possibility. We will welcome CU Regent Jack Kroll to discuss the role of the Board of Regents, followed by short presentations by three of the candidates for the office: Dave Gross, Aaron Harber and Callie Rennison. The program will also include a legislative update from CO State Senator Tammy Story! And an important update on prescription drug legislation from Representative Sonya Jaquez Lewis.
