October Evening Event
Please come early for our October event to meet your future City Council Members! Candidates will have tables set up to meet with you and discuss their vision for Boulder. The meet and greet lasts from 5:15 to 6:46, followed by Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser’s talk on the Rule of Law–which is an important topic for our country at this time!
October Program: The Rule of Law
Phil Weiser has been taking a stand for Coloradans as our Attorney General since January of this year. He has joined federal court cases to protect reproductive rights, the environment, and the Affordable Care Act. Weiser has also been a strong defender of Colorado’s gun safety laws. As a former clerk to Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg, his expertise on constitutional law was sharpened by the Notorious RBG herself. Weiser is a longtime thought leader on the Constitution and on consumer protection (which he advanced through work on anti-trust cases while working in the Obama administration). Weiser will speak about the “Rule of Law” at our October program. He will talk about his work for our state and speak about our need to stand up for our country. Weiser often quotes Ben Franklin, saying, “You have a Republic as long as you can keep it.” Please join us for his talk on how we can keep ours.
